Northwest Radiology Network welcomes Alan Engel, M.D., who is subspecialized in breast imaging radiology.

After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Indiana University in Bloomington, Dr. Engel received his Doctor of Medicine from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis.

He completed a diagnostic radiology residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine, followed by an abdominal imaging fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich., and a breast imaging fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Certified by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Engel is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, American College of Radiology and the Society of Breast Imaging.

He served as a diagnostic radiologist at Radiology Incorporated in Mishawaka, Ind. He was the medical staff president, long-time member of the hospital credentials committee and served on the hospital safety and quality committee at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Ind. He also authored several articles on the importance of mammography and vaccinations for the South Bend Tribune.
